FREMONT, CA: Axio, a pioneering cyber risk management Software-as-a-Service company, announces the appointment of Eric Cardwell as its Director of Cyber Risk Engineering. Mr. Cardwell will be responsible for managing cyber risk essentialities for industry clients, driving innovation in the security and financial controls across the energy and utility sector, and identifying government and trade association contracts.
Cardwell brings about three decades of experience to his new role and has broad expertise in project management and compliance with cybersecurity experience, business continuity, systems support, policy development, identification of business and regulatory demands, and translation of requirements for security and business platforms. Throughout his career, Eric has found himself as a security, audit, and risk management leader. Eric brings a wealth of expertise in cybersecurity, power, and utility knowledge to the Axio team, including his roles at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), PwC, and ABB Power Grids (now Hitachi ABB Power Grids).

Cardwell has a B.AS. in Political Science from the University of Tennessee at Martin. He also has certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional [CISSP], Certified in Risk Information Systems Control [CRISC], and Certified Information Systems Auditor [CISA].
